A well-established private client practice is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join their Haywards Heath-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical experience in probate and estate administration looking to take on a varied and rewarding caseload within a supportive and collegiate environment.

This role would suit an experienced private client solicitor who enjoys technically detailed work while also valuing long-term client relationships.

The Opportunity

You will be joining a friendly and well-established private client team, managing a varied caseload of probate and estate administration matters ranging from straightforward estates to high-value, technically complex administrations.

This organisation works closely with elderly and vulnerable clients, helping manage their affairs and providing sound, practical advice at often sensitive times. As a result, the work is both technically engaging and personally rewarding, requiring strong technical knowledge, excellent client care, and a proactive approach.

This is a varied role with significant autonomy, where you will manage your own caseload independently while contributing to a wider team that values collaboration and high-quality client service.

Key aspects of this Private Client Solicitor job include:

• Managing a varied caseload of probate and estate administration matters
• Handling taxable and high-net-worth estate administrations
• Advising on trusts and assisting with trust administration
• Supporting elderly and vulnerable clients, including powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters
• Working independently with minimal supervision
• Building and maintaining long-term client relationships
• Contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment

The Working Environment

You’ll be joining a well-established team with a friendly, collegiate working style based in Haywards Heath. Hybrid working is available following an initial settling-in period, with the successful candidate expected to work from the office at least 3 days per week. Full time is preferred, with a minimum of 4 days per week considered.

For this Private Client Solicitor role, you will ideally have:

• At least 5 years’ PQE, although applications from less experienced candidates with strong technical ability will be considered
• Strong experience in probate and estate administration, including taxable and high-net-worth estates
• Some experience advising on trusts and trust administration
• Experience advising elderly clients, including powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters, would be advantageous
• The ability to manage a caseload independently
• Excellent client care, communication, and organisational skills
• A practical, personable, and proactive approach to client work
