Harvey John are partnered with a prestigious London law firm to recruit a Trust Bookkeeper & Accountant for their Private Client Tax team. This is a fantastic new role where no prior experience in trust accounting is necessary – full training will be provided.

The team provides legal, tax and wealth structuring advice on a wide variety of issues to ultra high net worth individuals, trustees and to other institutions and firms. Their work is incredibly varied and interesting and is international, covering a range of technical areas in tax and law.

This role is integral in delivering the accounting and tax compliance cycle for a full spectrum of discretionary and interest in possession trusts and charities.

Day to day duties:

• Assisting with the trust accounting function for family trusts
• Bookkeeping and posting of transactional information in relation to investment portfolios or rental properties
• Production of draft trust accounts
• Supporting the wider team particularly in the area of client due diligence and the maintenance of client due diligence information for trustees and beneficiaries
• The opportunity to become involved in wider client financial administration and reporting if desired, including cash flow forecasts and the calculation of taxable income and capital gains.

To succeed in this role:

• Strong bookkeeping, double-entry and year-end accounts preparation experience, either in a similar role or from an accountancy practice environment
• QBE or AAT Level 4 qualified
• Experience using Xero or other online accounting packages
• Experience in trust accounting would be a benefit, but is not essential
