About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading international industrial and technology-focused organisation seeking a Tax Manager to support its German operations. This role offers broad exposure across corporate tax compliance, controversy, business partnering, and strategic projects within a dynamic multinational environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring tax compliance, supporting business initiatives, and providing practical tax guidance to stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate German corporate income tax compliance activities, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
- Act as a primary contact for tax authority inquiries and support tax audits and examinations.
- Provide tax support on corporate transactions, restructurings, integration, and other business initiatives.
- Collaborate with finance, accounting, legal, and operational teams to assess the tax implications of business decisions.
- Monitor developments in German tax legislation and evaluate their impact on the organisation.
- Identify tax risks and opportunities and recommend practical solutions aligned with commercial objectives.
- Support regional and international tax projects as required, working closely with colleagues across Europe and globally.
- Assist with tax reporting, data gathering, and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Steuerberater (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Strong background in German corporate taxation gained in either public practice or industry.
- Experience managing tax audits and interacting with tax authorities.
- Ability to communicate complex tax concepts in a clear and commercially relevant manner.
- Comfortable working independently while building effective relationships across a matrix organisation.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to multinational environments and international tax matters would be advantageous.
