An opportunity to join a dynamic private equity backed US owned business in the role of European Financial Controller based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Following a recent acquisition, you will assume responsibility for four European business units reporting to the Global Finance Director (based in the United States). Working with senior stakeholders in Bulgaria and abroad as part of the senior leadership team, this is a key and visible position managing and supporting a small finance team but still operating in a hands-on role.

You will be a fully qualified Accountant with existing experience in a leadership / managerial role, skilled in financial planning, business analysis, and reporting through IFRS. Exposure to USGAAP and practical ERP integration experience would also be of value but aren’t necessary.

Hybrid working is on offer as you will not be required to be in the office daily.

Role Overview:
  • Accountable for the financial close process and internal financial reporting submissions.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing of the books.

  • Enhance financial reporting processes and systems to facilitate management decision-making.
  • Provide leadership support for the accounting, treasury, tax and financial function of the Company
  • Enhance the quality, timeliness and reliability of financials, financial analysis, and key performance metrics available to management.
  • Deliver information and perspective on sales activities and outlook, product and customer level trends and profitability
  • Provide ongoing review of accounting systems and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Manage internal controls and support budgeting and reporting as required
  • Provide sound financial analysis and cost management for current and potential initiatives
  • Identify and track key metrics to drive the growth of the business and gain buy-in from management and the entire organization on the relevance and use of the metrics
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for each legal entity.
  • Provide information to internal stakeholders and other cross-functional leaders as needed
  • Any other ad hoc projects required by the Senior Director and CFO.
