Assistant Bookkeeper

We are working with a small, well established and successful accountancy firm based near East Grinstead, West Sussex to recruit an Assistant Bookkeeper to join their friendly team.

This is a great opportunity for a candidate who has already gained a year or two of experience in an accountancy firm an is now looking to develop their skills while assisting the managers and partners to help owner managed and family business manage their financial and taxation affairs.

In this varied role you will be preparing bookkeeping and VAT returns, assist with processing of payroll and be trained to prepare accounts and tax returns, initially for smaller clients.

Our client is looking for someone who is keen to learn and progress, and they will provide study support towards the AAT qualification.

About you:

• Already have 1-2 years accounts/bookkeeping experience ideally gained within an accountancy firm
• Working knowledge of cloud based accountancy software such as Xero
• Be aware of the need for complete accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail
• Looking for a long term career move
