Interim Management Accountant (6-Month Contract)

We are looking for a talented and experienced Management Accountant to join a FMCG business on a 6-month contract, starting in early December. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the wider finance team during a busy period and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis reporting into the FD and CFO

About the Role

This interim role will involve all aspects of accounting, analysis, and compliance. you’re a safe pair of hands who is confident with financial data analysis and can help navigate this peak period.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Playing a key role in the month-end processing and reporting process, running existing processes and analysing financial results.
  • Performing extensive data analysis using Excel and obtaining data through SQL (training provided if needed).
  • Executing existing year-end balance sheet reconciliations and developing new ones in preparation for the FY24 audit process.
  • Preparing information and lead schedules for auditors.
  • Supporting Transfer Pricing implementation, gathering financial data and applying specific rules.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc projects (e.g., VAT and corporate tax compliance in the UK and internationally).

About You

  • A minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience in practice or industry, ideally part-qualified or fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., using SUMIFS, INDEX-MATCH).
  • Confidence in obtaining and analysing data.
  • A disciplined and methodical approach to tasks with strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to challenge existing processes and propose improvements.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A logical, mathematically minded approach and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have (but not essential):

  • Experience in an e-commerce environment.
  • Familiarity with Xero accounting software.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and make an impact on a fast-moving business. While prior experience in all listed areas is not essential, a willingness to learn and take ownership is key.

*You will be expected to visit the London office once a month.*
