Job Title: Management Accountant
Location: Burgess Hill, West Sussex
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum pro rata 6 months FTC
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Management Accountant to join an established finance team in Burgess Hill. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in the financial reporting processes and to collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the business.
Summary:
As a Management Accountant, you will assist the Finance Manager in producing monthly management accounts to meet strict reporting deadlines. You will also contribute to the enhancement of internal reporting mechanisms and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. This role involves a combination of office-based work between the offices that are located in West Sussex along with remote working.
Duties may consist of and not limit you to:
- Calculate accruals and prepayments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Develop monthly cost center reporting to facilitate effective cost management and forecasting.
- Maintain detailed P&L schedules to minimise the risk of errors.
- Manage the fixed asset register and conduct full balance sheet reconciliations.
- Collaborate with purchase ledger providers to oversee purchase ledger cut-off.
- Ensure timely completion of management accounts by designated deadlines.
- Assist in IFRS16 reporting to support the annual statutory audit process.
- Manage statutory reporting to external bodies and facilitate inter-company reporting.
- Produce ad hoc internal reports for senior management as required.
- Support Accounts Payable function in processing supplier payments and reconciliations.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in Purchase Ledger.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage workload efficiently.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and explain variances from budget.
- Proficiency in standard accounting packages and aptitude for learning new systems.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with individuals from finance and non-finance backgrounds.
