Working with a leading insurance business with a key appointment to join the Board in the role of Non-Executive Director (Risk Committee Chair).

As Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Risk Committee, you’ll provide independent oversight of the Group’s enterprise risk management framework whilst supporting the Board in maintaining a robust and forward-looking approach to risk.

The role will lead oversight of the effectiveness of the risk management framework and operational risk systems, ensuring that material and emerging risks are identified, assessed, and embedded within the Group’s risk processes. Review risk reporting from the risk function, recommend changes where appropriate, and advise the Board on risk strategy, policy, and appetite.

Working closely with the actuarial function and other Board Committees, including consideration of the risk implications arising from internal audit findings, compliance reports, regulatory breaches, and loss events.

The role requires attendance at quarterly Risk Committee and Board meetings, equating to approximately eight days pa, plus preparation and review of papers. Meetings will be held in central London (close to Tower Hill tube (Circle/District lines).

You’ll be an experienced board-level risk professional within the insurance sector, with a strong background in enterprise risk management and ideally prior Risk Committee Chair or member experience.

Further details will be made available for all shortlisted candidates.
