Finance Manager – Sales Ledger Focus
Central Brighton | £35,000 – £40,000 (negotiable)
Initially temporary, with strong potential for permanent
Our client, a dynamic and fast-growing brand management company based in the heart of Brighton, is looking for a commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of their Sales Ledger function , area critical to the operational heartbeat of the business.
This is a broad and hands-on role, reporting to the Finance Director, with a strong emphasis on end-to-end sales ledger management across 15 diverse sales channels. In addition to taking full responsibility for SL, this person will contribute to wider finance and operational activities, including strategic insight, reconciliations, reporting, and people management.
Key Responsibilities:

Full end-to-end ownership of Sales Ledger processes and associated controls

Management of invoice financing arrangements and control accounts

Supervision of Accounts Assistant (responsible for Purchase Ledger)

Support with month-end and year-end tasks, including royalty reporting

Management of credit control, currency transactions, and intercompany reconciliations

Operational admin relating to sales processes, such as shipping documentation

Producing commercial and sales-related analysis and reports to support strategic decisions

Acting as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders relating to the order book

Being a system ‘superuser’ and tech-savvy go-to for finance-related systems
What We’re Looking For:
-
Strong, end-to-end experience in Sales Ledger and a solid grounding across SL, PL, and NL
-
Previous team management experience (even if just one direct report)

Technically confident – advanced Excel skills and ideally experience with finance systems at a superuser level

Experience working with multi-currency transactions and inter company processes

Clear and confident communicator, able to engage with multiple stakeholders across finance, operations, and commercial teams

A proactive mindset, commercial awareness, and the confidence to work with autonomy
Whats on Offer:

Salary circa £35,000 – £40,000, depending on experience

Initially offered as a temporary contract due to ongoing internal transformation and growth strategy, but with a strong chance of permanency for the right candidate

Office-based as standard, but with occasional home-working flexibility for focused tasks after an onboarding period
