Finance Assistant

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our client, a well established and reputable business as a Finance Assistant on the outskirts of Brighton.
This is a varied role and would suit someone with experience within accounts payable & Receivable and credit control, looking to take their next step with a supportive business.
Role Overview:
- Manage day-to-day purchase ledger, credit control and cash book activities
- Process supplier invoices, payments and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Liaise with suppliers and customers to build relationships and resolve queries efficiently
- Review and process expenses, purchase orders and payment runs in line with internal controls
- Monitor customer accounts, issue statements and support timely cash collection, including debt chasing where required
- Prepare aged debt analysis and cash collection forecasts for internal reporting
- Reconcile bank accounts and manage petty cash, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Maintain accurate ledger records, including journals and supporting documentation
- Support the Head of Finance with payment recommendations and general finance administration
The ideal candidate will:
- Have strong attention to detail
- Have good, ‘all around’ systems experience
- Work well within a team but also be self motivated
