Assistant Management Accountant

We’re working with a highly commercial business in Brighton & Hove that’s looking to strengthen its finance team with an Assistant Management Accountant.
This is a temp to perm opportunity, initially 3 to 4 months, with a genuine view to becoming permanent. It’s a great route into a long term role if you’re keen to prove yourself and step into a business where you can grow.
You’ll be supporting the production of monthly management accounts, while still being close to the detail. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll get involved in everything from ledger work through to budgeting and forecasting support.
In your day to day role, you’ll be:
- Working across purchase and sales ledger and managing bank reconciliations
- Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
This role would suit someone who enjoys being in the detail but also wants exposure to the bigger picture. If you’re looking to move from a transactional finance role into something with more month end involvement, this could be a natural next step.
We’re keen to speak to people who have:
- Around 3 to 4 years’ varied finance experience, including exposure to management accounts
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with and manipulating data
- A high level of attention to detail and a willingness to roll up your sleeves with ledger work
- Studying ACCA, ACA or CIMA, or AAT qualified, or qualified by experience with solid hands-on exposure
- Confidence communicating with colleagues across the business
