Movers & Shakers April 2020

Claire Wood at Coffin Mew:

Leading South East law firm Coffin Mew has recently appointed Claire Wood as Head of Business Development. Claire, who will provide strategic, commercial guidance on business planning, client relationship development, and winning new business, has 20 years' experience within the legal sector. Prior to joining Coffin Mew, she worked for a top 50 UK and international law firm as a Business Development Manager.

Claire joins Coffin Mew at a transformative time, which, following a 36% rise in revenue since its merger with Newbury firm Charles Lucas & Marshall in 2017, has an exciting schedule of activities planned for 2020.

The Knill James Corporate Finance team is celebrating a highly successful year of growth which saw two outstanding new additions to the team - George Clayson and Catherine Lambeth. The team also completed more than 10 deals, notably assisting one of Knill James' most long-standing clients to realise their investment with a successful international sale. Other transactions included restructuring and due diligence for a potential acquisition, an international joint venture, and acting for the purchasers in an MBO. The icing on the cake was being shortlisted as finalists in the South East Business Insider Dealmakers Awards in February.

Hannah Butler at Jonathan Lea Network:

Hannah is joining the Jonathan Lea Network team having most recently  spent a year working in the corporate team of a large London law firm. Prior to that, Hannah worked six years in-house for a specialist insurance liability management company based in Brighton. Whilst Hannah's experience is centred around corporate and commercial work within the insurance sector, she is excited to join a smaller team working with a wider variety of clients across a broad cross-section of industries.
