Treasury Manager

An opportunity has arisen for Treasury professional with a combination of accounting and operational experience to run the middle and back-office Treasury for a leading international business. You will be responsible for ensuring delivery of a high-quality accounting, control and compliance function; with a particular emphasis on the accounting for financial instruments and ensuring accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (particularly IAS 39 and IFRS 9).

Responsibilities

• Ownership of the accounting process for treasury, including the maintenance, improvement and development of reliable hedge accounting processes with regards to:
  • Hedge documentation (compliance with IFRS and Sarbanes Oxley requirements)
  • Monitoring of hedge effectiveness
  • Compliance with relevant IFRS accounting standards
  • Compliance with relevant UK GAAP accounting standards
• Ownership of static treasury data in the accounting ledger and treasury management system
• Ownership of forecasting, accounting, performance reporting and analytical review of the overall cash, debt, derivatives and finance charge
• Ensuring that any new compliance/statutory requirements are met ahead of schedule and with the greatest amount of automation
• Ensuring new financial instruments (including intercompany transactions) are correctly treated/accounted for
• Providing technical advice and guidance to Tax, Treasury and Finance teams on all aspects of treasury accounting (including acquisitions and group funding arrangements) specifically with regards to IFRS
• Supporting back-office processes required for straight-through-processing and accurate month end reporting across the Group
• Providing support to develop, test and deliver Group projects within expected timeframes
• Dealing with any new compliance/statutory requirements

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with treasury experience gained in a large multinational
• Strong technical knowledge of hedge accounting
• Proven experience with treasury management and ERP systems (preferably SAP)
