Urgently Hiring: Year-End Accountant – Short-Term Contract 🚨
Location: West Sussex – Hybrid
Contract Length: 6-8 weeks (with potential for extension)
Start Date: Immediate
Day Rate: £250-£350 PAYE

We are urgently seeking an experienced Year-End Accountant on a short-term basis to support our client’s financial close process. This is a hands-on role suited for a proactive professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and finalise year-end accounts in line with statutory requirements

  • Liaise with internal teams and external auditors as needed

  • Ensure all adjustments, reconciliations, and reporting are completed accurately and on time

  • Maintain financial records in compliance with relevant accounting standards

  • Provide insights or recommendations for process improvements, if applicable

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of completing year-end accounts autonomously

  • “Roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude, this is a hands-on role with minimal supervision

  • Proficiency in Xero preferred (or ability to learn quickly)

  • QBE (Qualified by Experience) or fully qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in fast-paced or SME environments

  • Ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies quickly
