Harvey John are partnered with a law firm who have a phenomenal reputation in the marketplace – they are recruiting a Tax Specialist to join their team in support of the Private Client and Private Wealth partners.

You will sit within an ambitious and collaborative team that will offer you wholehearted support and the freedom to develop the role in the direction that you wish, offering definitive career progression while trusting your capability to hold your own in a client-facing role.

This exciting and varied position contains the following key responsibilities:

• Providing clients with tax services of the highest standard, ensuring all tax compliance requirements are met in relation to Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax
• Working with and advising a mix of individuals, Personal Representatives and trustees (subject to experience)
• Providing tax support and insights to clients from other areas of the firm, notably in relation to Capital Gains Tax
• Upholding outstanding client relationships, including holding face-to-face meetings, advising on fees, arranging billing, updating them progress of projects on a regular basis
• Advising and spotting when legal issues arise and diverting these matters internally, as required
• Initially, this role will focus on supporting the Private Client and Private Wealth divisions. However, there is both the scope and encouragement to grow this role into a wider offering that also includes the provision of tax compliance services to team members internally, as well as across the Corporate and Real Estate functions if desired.

To succeed in this role you will ideally:

• Be studying towards the CTA qualification
• Have a minimum of 4 years of experience in a legal and/or private client team within an accountancy firm covering Personal Tax and Trusts & Estates compliance
• Be flexible, energetic, organised and accustomed to meeting tight deadlines
