An industry leading client, who has been at the forefront of their specialised sector for many years and leads through innovation, currently has a newly created opportunity for a commercially astute Management Accountant to join their finance team.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this is a high involvement role covering all aspects of financial reporting. There will be an opportunity to develop internal reporting with the Financial Controller and build on existing relationships with key stakeholders in the business.

This role is suited to practice trained individuals as our client is keen to bring in an individual with good financial reporting, VAT and audit process understanding. However, they’re also very open to considering candidates with a relevant industry background. You will be motivated in the workplace and enjoy ensuring tight statutory control alongside providing meaningful reporting and analysis. You will very commercially minded and seek out process improvements and ways to truly add value within the team.

Overview of duties:

  • Calculation of accruals and prepayments
  • Assist with the development monthly cost centre reporting for cost management and forecasting
  • Maintenance of detailed P&L schedules to reduce risk of errors and omissions
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register and full balance sheet reconciliations
  • Liaise with purchase ledger provider to manage purchase ledger cut off
  • Responsible for ensuring management accounts are completed
  • Assist with the IFRS16 reporting
  • Assist with the annual statutory audit
  • Manage the statutory reporting to external bodies, such as, ONS
  • Assist with Intercompany reporting
  • Assist with the production of adhoc internal reports for senior management
  • Assisting the Accounts Payable function to ensure supplier payments are processed and supplier statement reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assisting the Accounts Payable function with overseeing the purchase order process and ensuing the invoice flow is kept fluid to allow for accurate management information as possible
