This in-house position may be the ideal opportunity for you to explore your capabilities and flex your legal prowess within a fast-growing and dynamic company, all from an office a stone’s throw away from Brighton Beach.

Our client is an innovative online platform, headquartered in Brighton with offices on multiple continents. In this newly created role, you will support their Head of Legal and provide advice across a broad scope of legal matters, spanning jurisdictions across the globe.

This is a young business taking on big responsibilities, concerned with a positive effect by ensuring that its platform is both sustainable and accessible. They are continuously growing with investments and are seeking another member to form a small, in-house legal team. You will be offering advice to an array of stakeholders within the business in several countries, witnessing the effects of your hard work in line with the exponential growth of the company.

The role will include:

Contract Advisory: Preparing, reviewing & negotiating commercial contracts, as well as generally advising on various contracts across various levels of the company

Company Secretarial work: working closely with the Head of Legal and Company Secretary

Data protection and privacy: aiding in upskilling the business, and ensuring global compliance by staying up to date on legislation

Policy and procedure drafting: As a result of exponential growth, new policies and structures are continuously being implemented with the help of the legal team

Ideally, you will have:

• Solid contract drafting experience
• Good commercial acumen
• Great communication and the confidence to educate and advise others
• Strong drive to maintain and implement organisational procedures

The scope of this role is relatively experimental, therefore they’re also open to:

• EU, Australian or New Zealand-qualified lawyers and solicitors, with the Right to Work in the UK
• Solicitors looking to scale down their hours to a 4-day week
• Senior paralegals with a broad range of commercial experience, ideally in-house
