Finance Director l West Sussex

This is a superb opportunity for an established “number 1” to join an excellent business based in the Crawley area.

This role would suit either an established Finance Director looking for their next challenge or it may favor a Head of Finance/ Financial Controller, now looking to step into a Finance Director role.

You will be a dynamic and qualified accountant, with an eye for improving systems and processes, with the gravitas to report at the board/ group executive level.

In addition to this, you will also be a hands-on individual, comfortable with getting involved in “the detail” as well as more complex accounting matters.

Key duties will include…

• Financial planning and analysis
• Getting involved in tenders
• Preparing statutory accounts and Tax
• Leading the finance team (of 6) on day-to-day accounting matters
• Driving improvements to existing systems and processes
• Preparing statutory accounts and oversight of Payroll

The ideal candidate for this role, will…

• Be ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified, with significant post-qualified experience
• Have substantial leadership and people management skills- you will have ideally led a similar-sized finance team previously and have operated as a “number 1” in finance previously (even if temporarily!)
• Have excellent communication skills and be confident liaising with a variety of stakeholders
• Be a “hands on” individual and be comfortable getting involved in more routine accounting tasks, as well as preparing the statutory accounts too
• Possess dynamism and be confident driving improvements to existing systems and processes
• Be willing to work on-site 5 days per week- there may be the occasional opportunity to work from home, but this would be largely an on-site position
