European Financial Controller

An opportunity to join a private equity backed US owned business in the role of European Financial Controller based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Following a recent acquisition, you will assume responsibility for four European business units reporting to the Global Finance Director who is based on the east coast of the United States. Working with senior stakeholders in Bulgaria as well as in the US, this is a key and visible role managing and supporting a small finance team but still operating in a hands-on role.

This is a newly created role resulting from the acquisition and with aggressive growth plans, further opportunities for career development will most likely present themselves to the job holder.

Having experience in a private equity backed businesses as well as an exposure to USGAAP would be advantageous but you will have experience in a leadership role, financial planning, business analysis and reporting through IFRS. Advanced Excel is also required but having ERP integration experience would certainly be another advantage to add to your application.

Hybrid working is on offer as you will not be required to be in the office on a daily basis. Just to offer reassurance, the working hours are normal business hours for Bulgaria but flexibility will be required at peak reporting times.
