Potential study support and hybrid working after probation

We are recruiting for a leading organisation based on the outskirts of Brighton with staff parking available. This company is going from strength to strength and has doubled revenue turnover in recent years.

This will be a busy role with plenty to keep you occupied. Full training/onboarding will be given, alongside opportunities for development within the finance team. You may also benefit from AAT study support post-probation.

The position would suit either an early-stage Accounts Assistant who deals with debtors as a part of their role (and enjoys this), or a specialist Credit Controller. If you’re currently working in Customer Services (telephone-based) or financial services administration and eager to transition into Credit Control or Accounts, this role could be your perfect starting point! With a salary range of £25-28k, we’ll adjust it based on your experience level.

The key duties within this role will entail:
  • Implement company credit control processes and procedures at the appropriate times for chasing payment for overdue/over-limit accounts
  • Put accounts on ‘Stop’ and take escalated collection action if necessary
  • Liaising with sales force as necessary and advising them of overdue or over credit limit customers and arranging chasing either through them directly, personally or other team members
  • Resolution of disputes and queries through liaison with branch managers, sales force, or directly with customers
  • Negotiation and monitoring of repayment plans with problem accounts
  • Process new customer account applications promptly and efficiently by company procedures
  • Process credit limit increase applications from branches for approval by the Credit Control Manager and/or Director by authority limits
  • Ensure that updates received from our credit reference agency are acted upon speedily and appropriately so that our ‘self-insurance’ arrangements are up-to-date and accurate
  • Ensure that all relevant filing is up to date and in the correct location
  • Allocate customer payments to their respective accounts and assisting with any queries relating to payments
  • Act as point of contact for the Credit Control department in the absence of the Credit Control Manager
  • Any other reasonable duties considered appropriate by the Credit Control Manager, their deputy, or other company manager/director to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department.
