We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a dynamic business in the heart of Brighton on a part-time basis for a 6 month period to cover Maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities:

General Bookkeeping:
  • Managing purchase and sales ledgers
  • Handling bank reconciliations
  • Posting supplier payments and customer receipts
  • Managing company credit card transactions
Payroll:
  • Processing payroll accurately and on time
  • Ensuring compliance with payroll regulations
Multi-Currency Transactions:
  • Handling transactions in multiple currencies
  • Performing currency conversions and reconciliations
Credit Control:
  • Conducting credit control and debt collection activities
  • Liaising with customers regarding invoice queries and payment issues
Financial Reporting:
  • Preparing financial reports and statements
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
Essential Skills:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar bookkeeping role
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing
  • Experience handling multi-currency transactions
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero preferred)
  • Intermediate Excel skills (including Pivot Tables, VLookups, Graphs, and Tables)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • AAT qualification or equivalent
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement
