Introducing an specialist Indirect Tax offering

Almost a year ago today, a moment of recruitment serendipity in the Accountancy division led to Harvey John being able to officially announce a specialist Indirect Tax offering. 

With a recruitment background in commercial accountancy, Alex has dedicated the last year to utilising Harvey John‘s local network – whilst also branching out across the UK & European markets. He’s carving out an Indirect Tax recruitment offering for opportunities within both practice and commerce.

And what a year it’s been! Some have highlighted the market’s overall volume of Indirect Tax appointments has experienced a slight decline (due to the ongoing discourse on global economic concerns, fuelled by all the Brexit chatter and ‘risk of uncertainty’!). However, the Indirect Tax desk just keeps getting busier!

From autumn 2015 through to now, we’ve seen lots going on in the practice market across the top and mid-tier firms, including some key, hires being made at the Senior Manager / Director level within some independent firms. Likewise, there have been excellent in-house opportunities popping up at all grades, though admittedly the vast majority do fall within the European / EMEA VAT Compliance or Manager realms.

Over the next two quarters, we’re sure to see a change in the pace of the market as the UK’s continued membership with the EU will be determined. With that said, however, now seems just as good a time as any to explore the market with a constant stream of new opportunities being called in for roles across accountancy practices, global tax services, and in-house teams.
