Holiday pay, overtime and hourly rates/daily rate

Holiday Pay

All PAYE workers are legally entitled to 5.6 weeks holiday which Harvey John accrue and pay on an average day rate. See our holiday pay policy.

Overtime Rate

Overtime rates for temporary work are uncommon, but if agreed, you are paid normally at a higher rate and this will be shown on your payslip.

Hourly Rates Verses Daily Rate

You can be paid in any time interval measurement and this is what will be signed on your timesheet. The two most common are hourly and daily. Normally, a day rate is adopted for more senior roles and starts at about £250 per day. Hourly rates go up to about £25 per hour. If you work at a daily rate you will be asked to sign an opt out form (48 hour/WTD). It is important on an assignment that is likely to be long hours to consider the pros and cons of hourly verses daily rates as it can affect your pay and our client's budget. Again, it will be recommended that you either opt in or opt out of the 48 hours.
