Interim, contract and temporary worker

Interim, Fixed Term Contract, Temporary and Contract work all at a fundamental level covers the same function - which is to describe all work that is not permanent.  Common Terms:- 
  • Interim – A higher level contractor who generally works on projects and is paid  on a daily rate
  • Interim Management – Normally refers to a high level professional interim who assumes a functional or senior management role
  • Fixed Term Contract – Normally a defined contract period length which is paid on the client's payroll, working under their employment contract 
  • Temporary – This is normally somebody works on a day rate basis                           
  • Contractor – This is a term adopted by professional contractors who normally have a Ltd Company or umbrella employment and workforce management solutions
None of the above words are definitions and different companies/agencies adopt these words in different and interchangeable way.
