Head of Legal, London EC4. A successful UK based financial services company is looking for an experienced solicitor or barrister to be Head of Legal at their central London office. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Legal Director and will be managing the legal team.
The role will involve coaching and training the legal team ensuring legal advice is provided accurately and efficiently; providing expert advice on legal issues and contributing to legal and business strategies; working within the set budget and managing external costs, as well as ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced in-house solicitor or barrister with proven successful managerial experience, ideally gained working in the financial services industry and within a regulated environment. Essential to the role is a commercial approach and an understanding of the broader market and regulatory environment in which the bank operates. They will be customer focused, self-motivated, extremely organised and be able to build relationships. The role will involve some travel to offices in Yorkshire and Kent, and so flexibility is important.
